Android OS and Its Versions
Today is the era of smartphones which are coming with latest technologies and innovations with time, Smartphones are unlikely working as a small computer structures itself. Have you ever think about what thing making these phones smart? Yes it is due to new technology which introduces new features and functionalities but the main core behind this transformation of Phone to Smartphone is due to theOperating systems which enhanced the capabilities of the device to such results. The main functionality of any operating system is to play the role of intermediate between the all hardware and program resources which in result gives the flawless and smooth user experience.
Then
after in February 2009 version 1.1 were released which also doesnt
has any official public name but its internally known as Petite Four
which had 2 API level.
Then after those two version the naming system get started which is basically based on the Alphabetical sequence and which has food element starting From letter C and the version 1.5 is known as Cupcake which was released in April 2009, which has API level of 3. In this year namely Android Donut (1.6) and Android Eclair(2.0-2.1) which has max 7 level of API.
- In the year 2010 Android Froyo (2.2-2.2.3) with 8 API level and Android Gingerbread(2.3 – 2.3.7 ) with up to 10 API level.
- In year 2011 Android Honeycomb (3.0 – 3.2.6) and Android Ice cream sandwich (4.0 – 4.0.4) which has upmost 15 API level.
- In the year 2012 Android Jelly bean (4.1 – 1.3.1) were released with the utmost 18 API level.
- In year 2013 Android KitKat (4.4 – 4.4.4) with up to 20 API level were released.
- In year 2014 Android lollipop (5.0 – 5.1.1) with the 22 API level were released.
- In 2015 Android Marshmallow (6.0 – 6.0.1) with 23 API level were released.
- In the year 2016 the three versions of Android Nougat were released 7.0 , 7.1 , 7.1.1-7.1.2 which has 26 level of API.
- In the year 2017 two version of Android Oreo were released that are 8.0 and 8.1 which has 27 API .
- Afterwords in 2018 Android Pie were released namely code 9.0 which has 28 API level.
- Currently this year in 2019 android released its version 10.0 which also known as Android Q in September which has most API that is 29 level.
